In Spring 2012, Whoopi Goldberg interviewed President Barak Obama on her talk show “The View.” Important things were happening like Obama kicking off his re-election campaign and publicly announcing his support, for the first time, for gay marriage. But what were viewers really interested in? The shoes she was wearing.

TLV1’s Laragh Widdess visits Kobi Levi, who made Whoopi’s shoes, at his studio in Tel Aviv. He explains how his shoes evolve from sketches he makes on his computer, inspired by anything from what he ate for lunch to the music he listens to, into unique works of art worn by, for instance, Lady Gaga in her “Born This Way” video. Plus Kobi introduces Laragh to the newest addition to his studio.

Music:
Nancy Sinatra – These Boots Are Made For Walkin’
Madonna – Material Girl
Lady Gaga – Born This Way
Kaskade ft. Dragonette – Fire In Your New Shoes
