Host Gilad Halpern is joined by Jerome Bourdon, a professor of communications at Tel Aviv University and co-editor of the book Television Audiences Across the World: Deconstructing the Ratings Machine, which recently appeared in English by Palgrave Macmillan.

Bourdon explains the evolution of the peoplemeter from a simple instrument accumulating data for commercial purposes to a matter of public interest. Why is it still such an important tool today, more than a decade after the Internet supposedly killed the TV star?
