Israel is a small entity among the behemoths of the World Surf League. But while Israel has yet to produce a single surfer in the pro circuit, the sport still has a powerful impact on life here.

TLV1’s Jay Berstein spoke with Arthur Rashkovan, the co-founder of Surfing 4 Peace, an organization based in Israel that finds ways to get surfboards, wet suits, surf wax, and all kinds of surfing paraphernalia into Gaza and into the hands of its surfers.

Arthur explains how he founded the organization alongside Doc Paskowitz, the grandfather of Israeli surfing, and how a group of surfers from Tel Aviv managed to gain worldwide attention.

In the words of the late Doc Paskowitz, “People who surf together, can live together.”
