The latest viral video to sweep through Israel is by a duo who call themselves Reggie & Sig and is called “The Trip to Poland.” It begins with two arm-in-arm teens in front of the Duty Free store in Ben Gurion airport. One says, “The Trip to Poland, Rogozin School, 2017.” Both girls whoop. Cue the drum machine. As anyone would expect, the video has produced a great deal of anger and angst.

Can satire go past transgressive to just plain icky?

This is a segment from The “Selfie in Auschwitz?” Edition.

  1. DS says:

    These trips should be stopped.

They do a disservice by trivializing the events to immature teens and providing snickering Poles with tourism income and an opportunity to judge freewheeling Jewish youth. Kids should be taught to overcome odds, not to wallow in suffering.
