  1. As I listen to this portion of the episode, I am looking at a book on my desktop I am reading piecemeal (as I have many others as well… would I had 10 brains to process this all syntopically!) the book is “The Ornament of the World; How Muslims, Jews, and Christians Created a Center of Tolerance in Medieval Spain.,” By Maria Rosa Mencal. I have many such books that speak of the historical facts of multicultural learning centers and places of settlement that were diverse and peaceful. It is a sad world we live in, everywhere we see the increasing divisions of societies and cultures – some that are invented just to give purpose to a people. It has become almost so insane as to question whether any conflict between peoples can be settled – ever! Violence and evil thinking is spread upon the face of the Earth – and it doesn’t have to be. I found the linchpin was spoken in the first few words – “that we are all created by a ‘Creator’ and therefore killing another is an offense against God!’ – We have to learn that every one of us has a right to live and without forcing our way upon another – or them forcing on ‘us’… we need to wake up to the fact that this world is in trouble – and we need ALL hands on deck and pulling the rope in the same direction each in our several ways! To me that is what G-d wants – we are supposed to spread life out into the universe around us for as long as we can! THAT IS THE MISSION. I hope we find that out soon! The failure to do so could be detrimental to us all.
