On the night of Tuesday 19 April, Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square was filled with protesters supporting IDF sergeant Elor Azaria, a 19-year-old from Ramle who has been indicted for manslaughter for firing a deadly shot at a wounded Palestinian, 21-year-old Abdul Fatah al-Sharif, in Hebron last month.
