‘Sporting mensches’ is a series in which host Laragh Widdess interviews people who’ve made an outstanding contribution to sport in Israel – whether on the field, the pitch, the court, or behind the scenes.
Nate Fish, the first ever full-time, paid national director of the Israel Association of Baseball and self-styled ‘King of Jewish Baseball,’ joins Laragh in the studio. They discuss the trials and tribulations of growing baseball in Israel, and the national team’s next big challenge: The European B-Pool Championships in Vienna this summer.
Nate, who somehow manages to fit in being an artist and writer as well as the driving force behind baseball in Israel, describes how he’s been settling into the Israeli lifestyle after moving from Brooklyn in 2013, where he was also a successful DJ – something he’s had to give up in his new life.
