About two percent of Israel’s population is Christian, and 80 percent of those Christians are Arabs. Despite this being the land where Jesus was born, grew up, ministered, and died, Christians have always had a torrid time here. And for many Christian communities around the world, visiting is not on the agenda. But should it be? Is there something special about walking where Jesus walked? Can we really learn something about faith from rocks and stones and trees? TLV1’s Laragh Widdess plans to find out in her “Where Jesus Walked” series.
Her first stop is Nazareth, the largest city in the Galilee. It’s where Jesus “increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” according to Luke 2. It’s home to the largest church building in the Middle East, the Basilica of the Annunciation. But churches can only tell us so much. Laragh visits Nazareth Village, a recreation of a first century farm and village, to find out how Jesus would have lived, and what daily activities moulded him into the man, the teacher, the leader that he became.
Music:

I’ve been there three times and will go back as soon as I can put the funds together to do so. There’s tons to learn from the rocks:) G-D says if we don’t praise him the rocks will. I want to be smarter than a rock.
