OurCrowd CEO Jon Medved on “putting money where his mouth is”

‘Drivers’ is an interview series with prominent Israeli business figures.

The host, Erin Kopelow, is co-founder and director of business development for Tel Aviv University’s Sofaer International MBA and a recent graduate of the Kellog-Recanati Executive MBA. Originally from Canada, Erin moved to Israel nine years ago and currently lives in Tel Aviv.

Jon Medved is the CEO of OurCrowd, the Israeli equity crowdfunding platform changing the face of angel investment. This means you need $10,000 to join. Then, Ourcrowd will scout and vet new start-ups to present to its members, paving the way by putting down OurCrowd money in each and every one of these projects: “If I don’t have my own money in it, how can I have the chutzpah to ask other people to invest?”

Previous OurCrowd success stories include ReWalk Robotics (OurCrowd’s first IPO) and BillGuard. In this twenty minute interview, Jon Medved describes how he came to set up a crowdfunding platform that plans to raise $100 million in 2015.

OurCrowd is holding its Global Investor Summit in Jerusalem on the 9th and 10th of December 2014.
