The sights, sounds, and smells of Mahane Yehuda – Pathways

TLV1, in conjunction with Jewish National Fund, is pleased to introduce ‘Pathways,’ an exciting new series of radio reports examining Israel’s history.

Each week we visit a different historical site in Israel, bringing you sounds, stories, and illuminating perspectives.

In this audio slideshow, prepared by journalist Mordechai I. Twersky and narrated by Meredith Ross, we experience the vibrant Mahane Yehuda market in downtown Jerusalem.

An Israeli institution, the market attracts all kinds; its recent foray into the Jerusalem nightlife has expanded its appeal to a new generation. Join us as we sample the sights, sounds, and smells of its animated vendors, inquisitive visitors, and intriguing wares.
