In this audio slideshow, narrated by Paul Sanchez, we visit the Arava Institute, an academic centre devoted to environmental research. The Institute is located in the Arava Valley – a dry, windy, and saline stretch of desert that embraces the Jordan River both in the south of Israel and in Jordan. Here, Israelis, Palestinians, and Jordanians overcome their political differences to work towards improving the region’s environment.
