As Israel’s official “Gindi TLV Fashion Week” welcomed the stars on its exclusive red carpet, TLV1’s Laragh Widdess sought out Tel Aviv’s hard-working, urban designers to get a snapshot of the real Israeli fashion industry.

Laragh talks to Telavivian founder Anna Kopito about the alternative fashion week her magazine put on at the vibrant Romano building. She then meets veteran clothing designer Sarah Braun and Leonora Fuhrer, one of the women behind accessories brand Complét. They explain how they overcome obstacles like high overheads, wars, and H&M, and they predict what’s in store for the future of Israeli fashion.
