The Times of Israel’s David Horovitz on overcoming the crisis in journalism

The host, Erin Kopelow, is co-founder and director of business development for Tel Aviv University’s Sofaer International MBA and a recent graduate of the Kellog-Recanati Executive MBA. Originally from Canada, Erin moved to Israel nine years ago and currently lives in Tel Aviv.

In 2012, following a lengthy career in print journalism, David Horovitz co-founded the news and opinion site The Times of Israel. Two years down the line, host Erin Kopelow catches up with Horowitz to discuss the launch of their Arabic website.

Horovitz describes his journey as managing editor of an open blog platform that expanded into a multilingual 24/7 news site. He details how he overcame the crisis in digital journalism to create an economically viable operation, and explains why the safeguarding of journalism is crucial to the preservation of democracy worldwide.
