Guy Sharett talks about how, from the same Semitic root that creates the word ‘Kippur,’ Hebrew has developed the Moroccan-Jewish slang capara sheli (‘my sweetheart’), while in Arabic the same root leads to the word for ‘infidel’ or ‘denial.’
