Allison Kaplan Sommer, Miriam Herschlag and Noah Efron discuss two topics of incomparable importance and end with an anecdote about something in Israel that made them smile this week.

Damn that Winged Horse!
Reports that the police used Pegasus to spy on journalists, politicians, bureaucrats, and protestors sent us through all of Kubler-Ross’s stages: Shock, Outrage, Fear, Depression, Gallows humor, More depression, Cynical tweeting and, finally, pricing old Nokia flip-phones on Ebay.

Brush Up Your Streicher!
Do Israeli high schools teach too much about the Holocaust, and in the wrong way?

The “Tinder Swindler”

    I love the recent show.
Something Mr. Noah said, it reminded me of a quotation from Blade Runner 2049, “This. Breaks the world.” Not sure if anyone sees that, but i guess all women think Ryan Gosling hot
About the Holocaust education, i am not in Israel now, i am currently in a Central American state which abstained from the vote for free Israel. I just want to put in, that I find among holocaust education the survivor testimonies especially useful. Somehow, the children need to know, that whether or not your parents served in the German army, or you liked strawberries with cream and your friend lost the bet so she died, so you have to eat strawberries and cream, in her honour, we all win. That means if one of us survives, then we all died for something. Nike or Gatirade or The Next New Thing will put you on a cattle-car, but sure enough, some of us will make it off alive (G-d willing)
