An NGO called Gesher (or Bridge) recently produced a video which, as part of a “new ten commandments” they’ve formulated, encourages more friendly interactions among politicians. The video includes MKs saying and writing nice things about colleagues across the aisle.  Yair Lapid says of a colleague in Shas that he is a good and honorable man who cares about the State of Israel.  Ayelet Shaked of the Jewish Home says of Shelly Yahimovich in Labor that “I appreciate you very very much. You’re always straight, and mean business. I know you say what you mean. I’m very very glad that there are people like you in the Knesset.” Yesh Atid’s Shai Piron says to Ayelet Shaked, “Ayelet, there is something very real and authentic about you. Your heart is in the right place” (as he holds up a sign that says, Ayelet Shaked loves humanity.)  Moshe Feiglin, of the far right of the Likud, says of Meretz’ Isaui Frege that he is a warm, good and honest person.  Shelly Yachimovitz calls Orly Levi from Yisrael Beitenu “something else, a real social activist, who cares so much; it’s such a pleasure that you’re in the Knesset.”

Allison, Noah, and Don discuss if the video reflects some sort of reality – is there mutual respect of some sort? – or is it all a stunt.

maybe in another world; at another time. I hate the nastiness of politics but there is such a deep divide that there seems to be little other option than to have them fight it out….I would love to see all groups on the Right siding with Habayit Hayehudi to ensure enough seats to stand strong beside Bibi and steer him in the right direction
