Prof. Yaacov Ro’i, former head of the Cummings Center for Russian and Eastern European Studies, and author and editor of numerous books, most recently The Jewish Movement in the Soviet Union, published by Johns Hopkins University Press. He discusses the specific features of the movement, and what distinguished it from other dissident movements in the Communist bloc.
