I’d think that the American Diaspora may have had a role in the criminal targeting of sex trafficking in Israel. It’s eradication is universally held, so creates solidarity. How can one resist pleas by American donors and activists on this issue? It’s a natural for the internal improvement of Zionism. The question, then, would be whether Israel without this network would have acted with the same resolve; that is, whether the government would have prioritized it to the same degree. I suspect not, simply because the trafficked women have no role in society, so can be ignored longer. American Zionist live outside of Israeli political demands, so can advocate an issue with more uninterrupted insistence.
