Dr. Ofer Nordheimer Nur is a historian and gender scholar at Tel Aviv University, and author of Eros and Tragedy: Jewish Male Fantasies and the Masculine Revolution of Zionism, recently published in English by Academic Studies Press.
He talks to host Gilad Halpern about the inception of a prominent Zionist myth – the establishment in the early 1920s of the settlement of Upper Bitania, near the sea of Galilee, by a highly ideological group of Hashomer Hatzair immigrants from central Europe.
