Former MK and political commentator Yossi Sarid tragically died this week. Allison, Don, and Noah discuss the legacy of the longtime leader of the “peace camp.” Was he part of why the Left is now in a shambles?

This is a segment from The “Three Men, Three Paths to Peace” Edition.

  1. Adir Bar Yohanan says:

Kavod to the guy who starts speaking at 6:36.

I would be a left-wing liberal myself had I not seen so much bigotry, hypocrisy and downright violence amongst the left. The unflinching shutting of ears and eyes in the construction of this abstract, surreal, impractical, utopian fallacy of a perfect republic disembodied from any organic allegiance to body, land or emotion and populated by asexuated, egalitarian human drones.

Well, this vision ain’t working. And the left-wing’s extremism is generating bellicose and otherwise unnecessary forms of right-wing extremism which then is taken on board yet again by the ever more extremist left-wing and used to justify its own viciousness.

In this moral universe of extreme left, anything vaguely centred politically seems utterly right-wing and is demonised accordingly by a deluge of words poured out without pause for reflection.

It’s sad that the humanistic, human-rights camp is thus unable to actually contribute to the wider conversation and remains secluded in its virginal ivory towers of stiff lips and inquietude for the morals of the world while we, the commoners, have to go ahead and make a living, buy bread and milk, love and hate, cry and die.

What is asynchronous about left’s discourse is that they too have to eat, die if shot or hit with rocks by throngs of mad Arabs, and fail to notice that these embittered Arab Muslim immigrants in Israel masquerading as a nation militate against the wholesome destruction of Israel and not only of its right wing as the Arab criminals did not politely call on their next Jewish victim and ask “Pardon my intrusion, are you by any chance working or writing for Haaretz, because if you do I shall dutifully not try and kill you and will continue to search for another Jew, maybe for one that works or writes for Arutz Sheva. Thank you and have a great day!”.

No, you see – ‘cos Gideon and Amiraa don’t or claim they don’t – Arabs don’t do this and would readily kill all and any Jew.

But the sad truth of this whole matter is that all this Jewish left-wing madness has nothing to do with the Arabs – as they couldn’t care less if all “Palestinians” disappeared as long as they, the left wingers, would still have a different leverage against Israel, which they don’t, so they have to use and abuse the Arab issue – but it has everything to do with the unease the diasporic Jew has with being a Jew in a gentile country and the rather sick habit of lambasting Israel for everything and anything as a way to exorcise their own demons of existential inquietude and uncertain Jewishness.
